During our visit to Amalfi Coast, we stayed in the beautiful cliff side town of Sorrento. You can catch a boat from Sorrento Marina that will take you to Amalfi and Capri Island.

Positano on the west and Vietri sul Mare on the east are separated by only 40 kilometers along the Amalfi Coast. There isn’t much room for long, broad beaches in that distance, which is almost entirely made up of vertical terrain and precipitous cliffs. The Amalfi Coast has some of the most picturesque and idyllic beaches in all of Italy, despite their small size, thanks to the same topography.

Coves, where pebbles have gathered to form secluded beaches, are tucked away beneath those towering cliffs; some can only be reached by boat, while others must be reached via steep stairs or winding pathways through the cliffs. Amenities and Activities: Only guests of the resort area have access to the beach amenities. They also include beach restaurants, restrooms, showers, and changing rooms on their list of amenities. This beach line is watched over by a lifeguard during the season. There are other activities you can do besides swimming and tanning.

For visitors who stay a long way from the coast, Lido di Ravello beach’s location outside of Castiglione may present some challenges. The village’s isolation is not necessarily a bad thing, though. The farther the beach, the less crowded it is, as those who enjoy solitude know.

The water’s entrance is very smooth. This beach is appropriate for a variety of people, including lone travelers, fans of relaxing getaways, partygoers, etc. The place is not crowded at this time of year.

The shortest route to the beach, which stretches along a sunny coast, is by car or bicycle. The next best thing is to take a taxi, which can take you right to the beach, but if you don’t have that option. The only drawback is that staying somewhere far away can be quite expensive.

2. Duoglio Beach

3. Marina Grande Positano

4. Spiaggia La Perla

Spiaggia la Perla is situated along the coast of Marina del Cantone in Nerano, which could present some challenges for visitors who stay inland. The village’s isolation is not necessarily a bad thing, though. The farther the beach, the less crowded it is, as those who enjoy solitude know.

This beach is not very big. A typical European beach, the shoreline is covered in rocks. Arrive early because it gets very crowded in the afternoon. Given the heat in Amalfi, the water was cool, which was quite refreshing.

5. Maiori Beach

Amenities and Activities: This Italian beach offers a number of watersports, including parasailing, kayaking, wakeboarding, waterskiing, and tubing. Additionally, boat tours are available for excursions to Capri and other places along the Amalfi Coast. The promenade at Marina Grande Beach is home to an exceptional selection of seafood eateries, wine bars, and chic cafés.

Amalfi’s main beach, located in the heart of the city across from Piazza Duomo, is one of the most well-known and expansive on the coast. The town appears to flow into the beach at the bottom of the hill, and sadly, so do a lot of people. Although it shares some of Positano’s worldliness, it seems more chaotic and perhaps even more crowded. Even though there is less chance of spotting a famous face, people-watching is still enjoyable.

There is plenty of space on the pebble beach, which is just under 200 meters long and about 40 meters wide. At either end, you’ll find a free beach beyond the rows of vibrant sunbeds. Arrive early in the summer to find a roomy space for your beach towel.

You can reach Porto, a small free beach that is popular with families and has shallow, calm water, by strolling west along the coastline. A 10-minute walk from Marina Grande, just past the port, is Lido delle Sirene, which lacks a free beach but has a calmer atmosphere.

7. Spiaggia di Tordigliano

Opening Time: You can go to the beach anytime, but establishments open at 7:00 AM and closes at 10:00 PM

Why visit: Tordigliano is an untamed beach on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Despite being on the popular Amalfi Coast, Spiaggia di Tordigliano is still relatively undiscovered and unfrequented because it can only be reached by boat or a rocky, two-kilometer hillside trail.
Amenities and Activities: In addition to swimming, there are other watersports available, including fishing, windsurfing, and snorkeling. Kayaking, wakeboarding, and parasailing are additional paid activities. Additionally, you can rent boats, tents, and beds.

Tordigliano, one of the largest beaches on the Amalfi Coast with 350 meters of frontage, has remained largely undiscovered due to the steep descent and the need to hire a boat in order to get there. In either case, the benefit justifies the effort.

Tordigliano appears to be in a different world even though it is close to Positano because it is surrounded by a steep pine forest with no buildings in sight. The beach is in its natural state; all you can see is the water, the mountains, and the forest above. The only indication of tourist development is a small group of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. Tordigliano is a tranquil location to spend some time in nature after the busy bustle of the tourist towns.

8. Gavitella Beach

Address: Via Gavitella, 2, 84010 Praiano, Campania, Italy
Entrance fee: There are free spots at the Gavitella Beach, but there are sun beds for the extreme price of €80 for two.
Opening Time: The beach is accessible at any time, but most of the establishments are generally open from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Why visit: Gavitella is the only beach on the Amalfi Coast that receives literal sun kissing from sunrise to sunset because of its incredible location, west-facing Positano, Capri, and one of the stunning and wild Li Galli islands.
Amenities and Activities: A restaurant, a landing stage, and sun lounge/umbrella rental facilities are available at the beach. The presence of “Fontana dell’Altare,” a natural swimming pool built into a gorgeous secular grotto, will also please you.

A breathtaking land-and-sea panorama encompassing the hilltop town of Positano and the islands of Li Galli and Capri rewards the journey down the stairs to Gavitella beach. You won’t forget it if you see it at dusk. The beach is small, made of pebbles, and is tucked away in a cove that is only about 30 meters long. However, the water is a rich emerald color.

If you don’t want to reserve space at the Cala della Gavitella beach club, you can spread out a towel to sunbathe and swim on the platform (piattaforma) along the base of the cliff. In order to avoid the steep climb, if you eat at the beach club, a free shuttle will take you to and from either Marina di Praia or the Marina Grande in Positano.

9. Arienzo Beach

Entrance fee: Some of the areas are free, but you have to pay for the private sections. During peak season, the most basic package is 90 euros
Opening Time: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Why visit: Positano’s Arienzo Beach Club is a well-liked and well-known beach club. Arienzo is at the top of the list of the best beach clubs in Positano. Their recognizable orange chairs and umbrellas are probably familiar to you from Instagram.
Amenities and Activities: The Arienzo Beach Club provides a wide selection of food and drinks, rents out sun loungers and umbrellas, and plays enjoyable music. You can also engage in other activities, such as swimming, beach volleyball, and tanning.

Arienzo is one of the few beaches in Positano that receives afternoon sun, lasting significantly longer than any other beach in town, if you don’t mind going down the roughly 300 steps to get there. Additionally, the water is clearer here than it is at Marina Grande, making it a better swimming area. A beach club with a restaurant and sun loungers is in addition to the free area.

Despite being intimidating, the stone steps provide some incredible views and a chance to see some of the villas and their gardens that cling to this precarious coastline. For the views on the way down without the arduous climb back to the Amalfi Drive, take a Sita bus from the Marina Grande (the bus will stop at the stairs), then return by one of the boat shuttles.

10. Fiordo di Furore

Even though it is one of the most distinctive beaches on the Amalfi Coast, Italy is full of other beaches that are framed by amazing rock formations. The “boot” is one of the most popular and diverse travel destinations on Earth for a reason.

The cliff is adorned with a row of historic stucco homes, and below them, fishing boats are lined up on the beach behind a tiny cove that is tucked away inside a fjord. The Amalfi Drive is crossed over the top of the fjord by a tall, arched bridge above. Both the view of the bridge from the beach and the view of the beach from the bridge are impressive.
